Nokia 6500-s Restart Problem

This symptoms as we know might be cause by a corrupted system or some Integrated Circuit is defective or damage.

But for sure we have to repair this through software first in order to recognize what really might the problem is.

This symptoms must not be judged fastly by directly reheating some IC’s which most of the outdated technician do.This is to avoid wasting of time, especially damaging the phone permanently. Therefore, do flashing the phone into higher version or the same version of firmware must be taken first,as you can see in the log,i flashed it in the same version because that is the last version available in that model.

here is my log:

Tracing Mic or Mouthpiece connections in Mobile phone

This is the very fast and basic step in troubleshooting mouthpiece  problem in any mobile phone.

Ofcourse you are required to use Multi-tester(Analog or Digital),We all knew that the positive line of the mic in the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is in the middle,so just simply point the Test Lead (red) [positive to positive] of the Multi-tester into the mic pad (middle) of the PCB as well as the test lead(black) [ground to ground], and observe the pointer of the Multi-tester in the scale.

 Take note:

-If the pointer reacts or you notice that it moves a little, the connection is good.Because there is a reading of resistance in this circuit. Therefore, you may conclude that the mouthpiece item is already the problem and have to replace into a new one.

-If the above taken and which result is no reaction of the pointer in the scale of the Multi-meter,this means that there is an open track. So,what to do now is to refer on your service manual (schematic diagram) to know the broken circuit or defective parts on the PCB.As we noticed, the mic driver (crystal type) is always be the cause.

Thanks to my friend Abrahim for giving me this idea.

Godluck!

THE LOUNGE

ATTENTION!

Posted here are various solutions in troubleshooting Mobile phone issues among Cellphone Technicians.

I will only post solutions that is already been encountered and tested by me.

If you have applied the solution and does not work for you, the best way is to rely on the service manual (schematic diagram) of the phone itself.

Trace and study the diagram, because in troubleshooting a mobile phone,it is a trial and error that you must apply the basic step first.

This serve as references.
